Dr. Grace C. Washington, is the recipient of the Woman of Excellence Pastor of the Year. She is the Senior Pastor and Organizer Love Life Christian Fellowship Church of Ellenwood, Georgia. Dr. Washington is led by a spirit-filled woman of God who is totally committed to excellence. For more than 40 years, she has served the body of Christ and the community at large as a preacher of the Gospel. The year 2015 incredibly marked her 30th year of service as a senior pastor. Dr. Washington has been bountifully endowed with a light. “And my task,” she says, “is to let it shine in this world of darkness by preaching and teaching the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Dr. Washington is skilled in all aspects of ministry. Much of her ministry success has been marked as an authority on marriage and the family. Accordingly, she is author of three marriage-related books: “Conquering the Giants of Discontentment in Marriage with 5 Smooth Stones,” “Oil for a Squeaky Marriage,” and “10 Building Blocks for Marriage.” She has been married to Deacon Robert Washington for 48 years. A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, Dr. Washington’s international experiences include ministry in China, Bethlehem, the Virgin Islands, Soweto, South Africa and Ghana, West Africa.

Dr. Washington earned her Doctor of Ministry degree from Newburgh Theological Seminary & College of the Bible, a Master of Divinity degree from the Interdenominational Theological Center’s Gammon Theological Seminary. She also attended Georgia State University, International Tabulating Institute and the Word of Faith Bible College. She has received academic honors as one of the Nation’s Top Students and consecutive listings on the National Dean’s List. Widely known for her compelling preaching abilities, Dr. Washington has been tapped to serve as the keynote speaker for many distinguished occasions. One of the most notable was the Ecumenical Service for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s 66th Boulé in 2014, wherein she addressed an audience of 10,000+. And in 2016, she was inducted into The Board of Preachers of The Martin Luther King, Jr. International College of Ministers and Laity at Morehouse College.

Additionally, Dr. Washington founded the Grace C. Washington Institute to teach and train people in biblical, theological and ethical procedures of Christian education. Her sermon, “The Dawning of a New Day,” was selected for inclusion in the American Folklife Center’s Inauguration 2009 Sermons and Orations Project.
