Chester Lee Burke, Jr. will receive the Men of Excellence New Artist of the Year Award Mr. Burke is a gifted, classically trained pianist. Playing since the age of 4, he commands all genres, as well as sings and directs. Mr. Burke attended Morgan State University under a full scholarship, and graduated magna cum laude from Morgan with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. At Morgan, he studied piano with Dr. Stephanie Bruning, and accompanied the world-renown Morgan State University Choir, under the direction of Dr. Eric Conway. He has accompanied the choir in the Virgin Islands, Colombia, South Africa, China, Russia, Italy, Brazil, Jamaica, Australia, the Middle East, and throughout the United States in halls including the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Strathmore Music Center, and Carnegie Hall.

Mr. Burke has worked with noted artists such as Dionne Warwick, Denyce Graves, Twinkie Clark, Earnest Pugh, Maurette Brown-Clark, Anita Wilson, Patrick Lundy, and Nolan Williams. He currently serves as the Minister of Music at New Chapel Baptist Church in Camp Springs, MD, and on the music faculty at Duke Ellington School of the Arts. He has graduated from The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University with his Masters of Music on May 21, 2015.

Chester Burke Jr. & Company is a ministry of dynamic and anointed psalmists, singers, and instrumentalists, whose aim is to lift up the name of Jesus Christ, and advance His kingdom through song. Since its inception, the group has been blessed to sing and travel with the legendary Twinkie Clark of the Clark Sisters, and has ministered all across the Washington DC/Baltimore area and abroad, including Nassau, Bahamas, proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. On January 31, 2016, the group released their debut single, “Jesus, I Bless Your Name”; a contemporary gospel song that proclaims the goodness of the Jesus Christ, and how worthy He is of all praise.
