Candace LeTara Farrar(‘Pate)(born June 25, 1982), professionally known as Candace Farrar is an American singer-songwriter, worship leader and producer. She also is a graduate of Hampton University and holds a BSN in Nursing. She is well on her way to becoming one of the most recognized trailblazing recording artist in Christian Inspirational Music. She is known for her encouraging lyrics and music that has her own flavor of urban tones that set her apart. “An Evening with Candace Farrar” was held February 9, 2018 at at her home church Redeeming Love Word Ministries, High Point, NC. This event kicked off the release of her debut album “Heavenly Melodies” which features nine powerful heartfelt origianl songs that will definitely pull you into a special place to enjoy a worship experience.

She has one younger brother, Christopher Pate. Her parents Maurice and Deirdre (Toni) Pate have played a major role in her career guidance and spiritual upbringing. Farrar attended preschool, kindergarten and some elementary grades at Wesleyan Christian Academy, a private school in High Point, NC, before transferring to Montlieu Elementary School a public school. She attended A. Lauren Welborn Middle School and graduated from T. Wingate Andrews High School where she was honored as Homecoming Princess and Prom Queen during her senior year.

Farrar discovered her talent at the tender age of 5 years old. Making a joyful noise from sun up to sun down was her delight. There was always a song and joy in her heart as a child. Her mom always told her “That’s my Mockingbird”. Her first solo performance was at her elementary school Wesleyan Christian Academy in a school program at age 5. A song titled “Messes” was her musical debut. Farrar was reared in a very spiritual home and raised in church. In Middle School Farrar and a group of her friends formed the gospel group “Anointed Voices of Praise”. The group sang and participated in church functions, and community events. In High School she became a part of the High Point Community Gospel Choir where she had the opportunity to again sing at church functions, community events, and travel.

After High School Farrar attended Hampton University, Hampton, VA where she received a BSN in Nursing. Farrar has blossomed in the ministry of music at her local church. 2017 Career Beginnings and Candace Farrar The singer began working on her debut album “Heavenly Melodies” in April 2017 with experienced and renowned producer, musician, singer-songwriter, Tom Buchanan. Both have formed a lasting respectful working relationship. They began meeting on scheduled Saturday’s for 1 to 2 hour sessions. Farrar would sing songs she’d written and Tom would produce the music. This collaboration lasted for 8 months until the album was completed January 2018. Artistry /Influences One of Farrar’s childhood memories is listening to her dad’s catalog of music he would play on Saturday mornings. Smooth Jazz and R & B. And Sunday mornings were filled with gospel music radio. Her biggest musical influences are Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, Aretha Franklin, Mercy Me, and Chris Tomlin.
